The Small Satellite Conference (SmallSat) is the premier global gathering for the small satellite community — commercial, government, and academic innovators who build and operate constellation-class spacecraft. Hosted by Utah State University’s Space Dynamics Laboratory, the 40th annual conference celebrates four decades of collaboration that have transformed smallsats from niche experiments into systems powering navigation, Earth observation, communications, and defense missions worldwide.
SmallSat 2026 runs August 23–26, 2026 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, with research and academia sessions on August 23 and enterprise sessions, exhibits, and technical presentations continuing through August 26. Space Information Laboratories exhibits as part of its engagement with the teams advancing the battery, avionics, and range-safety technologies that keep smallsats flying reliably in orbit.
