30 September 2019, SANTA MARIA, CA – Space Information Laboratories (SIL)
( http://www.spaceinformationlabs.com/ ), is a leading provider of high-end Li-Ion Polymer
Intelli-Pack® Batteries, VBITS GPS Tracking and Autonomous Flight Termination
Systems (AFTS), Intelli-Avionics® and Satellite Ka/Ku-Band Communication products for
DOD programs of national significance. SIL’s 20Ah Li-Ion Polymer Intelli-Pack® Battery
has been Range Safety Space Qualified three times (2013, 2015 and 2017) and 15 for 15
for MDA target missile and reentry vehicles mission success since 2013. SIL’s Li-Ion
Polymer Intelli-Pack® Common Battery with advanced BMS (USPTO Utility Patent
#9,748,541B2) is being used to power avionics, telemetry and pyro systems.
“SIL’s Li-Polymer Intelli-Pack® safe and high reliability battery technology provides
significantly higher energy density (200Wh/Kg) and operational capability for launch
vehicles, missiles, hypersonic vehicles and strike weapons, and significant volume and
weight savings by 1/3 compared to Ni-Cad and Silver Zinc battery technologies.”
The design, manufacturing and acceptance testing is performed on site at Space
Information Laboratories, Santa Maria, CA. The contract to support Aerojet Rocketdyne
Coleman Aerospace MDA MRBM program ( https://www.mda.mil/news/19news0007a.html ) is
a production contract for avionics, telemetry and pyro flight batteries for target missiles
with value of $2.3 million. “We are extremely proud to be the first company to Range
Safety Space Qualify Li-Ion Polymer battery technology and fly it successfully in the
Aerospace industry. The Li-Ion Polymer Intelli-Pack® battery will save significant space
and weight thus enabling more capability for the payload to enhance MDA’s BMDS
mission,” said Edmund Burke, SIL CEO.
